    Re: Official Tournament Special Batch

I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. Life definitely got in the way.

A set of files has notes up in the Batch Review Thread (which I now wonder why I posted it there in the first place, apologies Dossar), from A Baptist in Church in Georgia to Distorted Happiness. Files are actively being checked whenever the time opens up to do so; I haven't forgotten.

EDIT: minus Aggressor because apparently, I'm an idiot (?????)

      Re: Official Tournament Special Batch

For those of you that have had your files judged, go to the tournament batch area, find your file, update it, and then let us know in the thread here that you made a change to it if it's necessary to do so.

EDIT (8:13 PM server time): I've just heard that it might not be possible to change your files until your chart is changed to a certain status by a GM; give me a moment to set the status on the files accordingly.

EDIT (8:24 PM server time): Alright, I think that I have things set up for everyone to properly edit their submissions. Again, once you do so, please post in the thread letting us know that you did; it's likely that the submission edits won't get looked at right away as there are still many unjudged submissions, but bear with us — we haven't forgotten. It's been on our mind to get judgments done for a while.

                  Re: Official Tournament Special Batch

                  Hello everyone,

Just a quick update; only three more files have been judged since the last update. This is mostly my fault because I am simply spending time that I really do not have trying to write detailed notes.

With that being said, I am going to start judging files again today. However, my notes are going to return to a more of a summarized format that I used to do basically 8-9 years ago. I know it's not exactly the most fair thing to do, but this batch has basically been held up by me, and I can't do it anymore.

To those who are still waiting in judgment: if I put out really summarized notes and you would like clarification, do not hesitate to contact me on Discord. Hit up the FFR Discord server and you'll almost certainly find me there online to message.

I apologize, but I feel like this is the best way to get things done at this point in time.

EDIT: clearly summarized pacing is working; notes are of acceptable length - here was my first sit down:

6 files were judged in that period. I'm gonna try to do more later; I am trying to force myself to do it now and I'm just not feeling it at the moment.

                    Re: Official Tournament Special Batch

I think that unless people disagree with a rating, which can happen, in-depth notes aren't necessary at all. Yes they're nice, but they're not a priority. In case someone really isn't satisfied with a summary, and agreement can't be reached, then detailed notes should be required.

Do your best. I know you tend to give yourself deadlines you can hardly respect because of lack of free time or just motivation, and then you have to apologize everytime. Instead, I suggest you simply explain where you're at (when you post an update).

                    OT hype~

But yeah, it seems to be helping out overall. Progress is happening and it feels a lot easier doing things this way, haha.

I updated before... according to review.

It's unfortunate that you won't manage to make those detailed notes for all the files. In any case I do appreciate the careful look you gave for my file.

Don't get me wrong — they're not quick one-liners or anything like that. I just haven't gone and put much more effort in noting every issue throughout the file and instead have encouraged users to look around a bit more for mistakes like the ones that have been found.

There's still some meat to the notes, just not quite as much. I've saved a bit in writing by doing things this way.

On another note: I'll be putting notes out sometime today. How long the notes will be are dependent on how much further I go from this point before burning out for the day. There will be notes for at least 16 + 1 files (+1 because the score is a 0/10 due to some strange technical issue), but perhaps more than that depending on my mood (I'm currently taking a break from judging right now to eat).
