On that topic, I'm not sure if we can even support files longer than 8:58 (at least I think that's what the limit was) without doing some sort of manipulation. I think TGWP v2 was only possible as a 17 minute song because there was a pause section where some nasty hack was applied to the flash file so that way the player didn't experience a lag hiccup in the file to bridge that limit.

given what's been queued and conditionally queued from the hard songs batch so far, I don't think you'll have too much of a hard time filling out D7

only a couple files are structured in such a way that I wouldn't consider them tourney-appropriate

I think 7 minutes long is pushing it .-.

Depends on the file, if it's really good I could see using one because it tests people's stamina and their ability to stay accurate over the course of the file. I generally do stay away from longer files though because a lot of times they get draggy.

iirc, r^3 can do it when using the AS3 capabilities without any issues at all; I recall Velo saying something about the frame limit not being an issue because R^3 itself has multiple ways of handling the music/streamsound attribute (it also might be the reason why offsets are drastically different between 30 FPS and 31+ FPS on R^3 since you can actually support decimals in the latter but not the former)

and R^2/earlier can just be hacked like you mentioned (not that it's the most grandeur of solutions, but)

goddammit get your offset right i'm tired of having to fix it >

So yeah uhh this is still gonna appear in several of my submission from previous batches because im bad and forgot to change the global offset when I swapped over to sm5 for stepping like a month ago. =c

Also I do plan on making fixes for all the files accepted via the tournament batch, but won't be able to get around to them till after next week (this week + next week is finals + term papers)

And clarification on whether the engine can handle a longer than 9 min file would probably be good just cause I do have a 13 min file that I was gonna submit to the December batch.

Okay so I decided to start converting everything and seeing where they fit so check the spreadsheet

Sent in some really kickass Celldweller.
I was trying to make this fit the 58-60 slot for D2 Round 5 but a few parts might kick the difficulty up above a 60.

The difficulty ranges in each slot is just more of a base guideline, if it were slightly over but still fit in that slot well we'd use it.

Went through the current batch and found 10 more files I think will fit empty slots. Will convert those tomorrow along with anything recently submitted to get a clear idea of where they'd fit if accepted. We may just be able to open signups before the new year \o/

Man that song is awesome, I obviously haven't looked at recent Celldweller discography. Makes me want to step all the arpeggios and make some You Time-style mess lol

Multiple files fit the slot and we haven't figured out which to use yet. Mostly just a reminder to myself.
