I agree. I don't like it that someone can get 12 goods on hellbeat, and still lose, yet someone else can just boo out and win, since their opponent didn't submit. There's too big of a luck factor the current way, since your opponent could either be insane, or not submit at all. It's not as bad as the really old FFR tourneys, though, where anyone who submitted a score all 5 weeks would always get into the playoffs, since so many people wouldn't submit, so any submission would have a high chance of winning.

So would the free-for-all be the bottom half, or just the bottom three (or a specific number designated to each division)?

Either that, or they just signed up and forgot about it. They also could have seen their opponent's score and couldn't beat it.

Or they could have signed up, thinking that they might participate, then just decided not to, or saw so many insane scores in their division that they just gave up. There are tons of reasons, actually.

For whatever reason, every round for me has been great luck as far as the pairings. First it was stiles, who rules and probably should have won, and now it's newblue22, who's going to kill me at Hellbeat with slightly better PA (Hopefully!).
