Sightread = no sound or first time playing? Could be no sound beause you're reading the song only with your eyes, not your ears. Could be first time playing because you're not reading from your memory at all.

Sightreading is the first time your playing the simfile. As opposed to having already played it, and having an idea of, or knowing what the steps are.

luna: you can tell it is his first time playing, because his old rank is 0. if he had played it before, it'd be a rank other than 0.

The term "sightread" applied to FFR/SM is based off the same term when applied to playing real music with an instrument--to "sightread" a musical piece means to play it without prior practice of the piece, i.e. reading directly off the sheet music and playing nothing from memory.
