Arch please stop trying to use big words to try and sound smarter.
If you were familiar with me, that's not how I think in the least. I use bigger words sometimes to communicate a more specific message; calling someone "grandiloquent" (which is what you're accusing me of being, which I'm not) is a lot more specific than calling them "pretentious", for example, but one word sounds much bigger than the other. I use the word "pretentious" a lot, because often I do not know what I could replace for a more accurate meaning, so people like QreepyBORIS sometimes criticize me for redundancy on that particular account.
Audacity, debacle, semantics? Not only do you use unnecessary words that half of the kids on this forum don't understand, but you use dumb cliche's like "grain of salt". Definitely not necessary. "I find it terribly simple minded"..."It's also amateur to assume". It sounds like you write straight from a thesaurus, and it sounds fake. I hope you don't do that when you get to college or you will fail miserably. Talk like a human being.
Nothing wrong with speaking properly. Would you rather his post be full of u's and other internet short terms and slang words? Not me, I'd much rather read that. Mind you, I don't think more or less of someone by the quality of their english and grammar over the internet, as long as the post is readable and put together half decently >.>
There's a difference between speaking properly and being straight-up obnoxious. You don't agree that it sounds fake? It kind of seems like he's trying to act better than everyone else because he can use a thesaurus. It sounds like he's trying to write an article for a New York Times, not post in a forum used by 95% teenagers. I don't know, it's just how I feel, I don't know what you guys think.
A little bit. Some people are more 'wordy' than others by nature though, and Arch0wl tends to use it when he gets into a debate. He's always been like that. So who knows. I'm not one to judge.
