    Excuse my n00bness, but...

...doesn't everyone here play Index? I saw Reach's topic with a score, but later he was like: "Oh here is my index score", then: "Oh here is my one-handed score".

What other styles are there? And what's the best? I always thought index was the best?

There are a lot of different styles, and they all have their disadvantages and advantages.

That I know of there are:
    1 hand 3 finger
    1 hand 2 finger
    2 hand 2 finger (index)
    2 hand 3 finger
    2 hand 4 finger

edit: And for the record, I play 1 hand 3 finger.

I believe index is 3 fingers, 2 hands.

I play 2 fingers, one with each hand. Isn't that index since you only use index fingers?

How does 3 fingers, one hand work? O_O That seems so limiting.

wtf, how does that make any sense? Index means index fingers, as in, 2 fingers, your 2 indexes.

I personally use 2 hands, 3 fingers (left index, right middle and right index).

And yes, one handed would feel limiting if you aren't used to it. But you can still find very good onehanded scores (like from kilgamayan), it would just take practice. Likewise, trying index would feel somewhat limiting to me at this point, being used to having an extra finger to use, so it's the same idea.

                      Here's the real list:
                      1 hand 2 finger
                      1 hand 3 finger
                      1 hand 4 finger
2 hand 2 finger (index or middles or one index and one middle)
2 hand 3 finger (this is NOT index)
                      2 hand 4 finger
                      mouse
2 hand 5 finger is something I came up with. I don't know if anyone else uses it. I put my left middle finger on right, and my left index on down. I then put my three middle right fingers on the 4, 5, and 6 keys on the numpad. The finger on the five key does both 8 and 2. I totally suck at jacks, and this makes them easier for me. I don't usually play this way, though.

I'm not completely sure I know what you mean, but are you suggesting you use a double setup? ..cause don't think that would really count in this case. Plus it's kind of a cheap way to get around doing jacks.

Yes, that is a double setup.

One hand, three fingers represent, by the way.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

Two hands 6 fingers double setup is the strongest way.
