Chapter 1:

"Another day, another color theory assignment", sighed moches.

He gathered his books and made his way slowly towards the front of the class where assignments were being distributed. He looks at his teacher with disgust.

"You know, if we could just practice making files rather than writing assignments..."

"Yes, you have told me this many times, moches", argued Patashu. "Learning about theories beforehand will give you a better advantage when making actual files. I expect this back after the weekend."

Great. If only prof. Patashu knew what he was capable of, he thought, perhaps he wouldn't need to be badgered about theories and assignments. This was, after all, his 3rd year in Stepmania University.

"Yo mo', wait up" says a voice behind him. Gundam-Dude had already finished his assignment. "You want to copy off mine?"

"What's the point? He'll know it's your work..."

"Don't sweat it mo', I changed my phrasing a little to make it sound 100% legit"

If not for Gundam-Dude's incredible color theory knowledge, moches would have most likely given up on the whole class. At this rate, he would never impress all the girls in the expressive arts club, which he and Gundam-Dude were a part of. After school stepmania clubs were very common at Stepmania University, some with different themes.

"Oh shit. Don't look, it's those guys again."

Gundam-Dude pointed down the hall. The tallest, meanest figures in Stepmania University were hard to miss. The one club very few get accepted into: the Midare club. Midare took one look at Gundam-Dude before making his way towards them.

"Hey, buddy! I see you have some valuable information there", said Midare looking at the completed assignment. "You wouldn't mind if I borrowed this, would you?"

"Fuck off QED molester, you don't know shit about expressivemanias", quoth Gundam-Dude.

Midare gave him an evil stare. "Watch out who you side with. You know the Solords look down on your precious little color theories."

Forget about them, moches wanted to say, but the words couldn't escape. They both looked at the goons walk away. Maybe another day, moches could stand up to himself. Today was no day to start a fight, not with the president of the expressive arts club waiting in the next classroom.

"Ahem! Class awaits, gentlemen."

A voice startled them from behind. Dr.Tran was waiting impatiently at the entrance of his classroom. "Rainbows don't step themselves you know."

Episode 2:

Another day, another simfile. Running Stepmania University was no easy task. When he took office, his goal of educating every Stepman the proper way would obsess him until his resignation. Making simfiles for him was more than art - it was creating a structure from the soul within. No simfile could be rushed, everything precisely placed to accentuate every little sound. The Lucky Star posters could throw any visitor off from his beliefs; however, his facial expressions told another story.

"Stargroup, you're letting this get to your head", said Dr.Tran. "The Dark Chancellors aren't in town to intimidate your pupils; they seek new blood."

"How can you be so sure?" Stargroup replied. "You know what they're capable of. The last thing I want is for my students to go to dangerous lengths to get accepted in their shenanigans!"

"We were once of their kind. It's not in their nature to prey on the weak."

"But Jousway...."

"It was his own fault. Stargroup, Listen to me. Every stepman's fate rests on their actions. Going against the Dark Chancellors is digging your own grave."

Stargroup gazed out the window. He starts to create stream patterns with the students leaving the school yard. Having the Dark Chancellors come to this city for recruiting cost him days of sleep.

"You're not even paying attention..." Dr.Tran says in a serious tone.

moches and Gundam-Dude were making their way to the Solords' hideout. It was an underground lair built during the index wars to repel any unwanted guests. The Solords let the students of SMU use their facilities for training, or in this case, hold the expressive arts club meeting.

"Gundam, do you think Midare meant what he said? You know, about the Solords and expressiveness..."

"Nah, don't pay attention to him. We've been friends with the Solords for years. The last thing on their mind is arguing about simfile structure. That's what makes solo so awesome."

"If you say so."

The lair was built on a cliff side near the university. A small hatch near the edge granted passage. A small tunnel revealed a base of massive proportions. This lair was perhaps the reason the index race had been eradicated. War was never the Solords' intent, but the spread players had different ideals.

Gundam makes his way on the steel railing towards a plastic door with moches closely following him. He enters a code to open a large room where many were already present. The club meeting was about to start.

"Before you guys start, where's my encyclopedia nigapat?"

Gundam turns around and noticed Kommisar on the rafters above him.

"Right here you cock sucking Frenchman."

He hands over a large book titled: "Dark Chancellors Simfile Guide"

"Thanks Kommi, this scored me plenty of bonus points with Dr.Tran."

"Just uh, don't tell him I lent you that book alright?" said Kommisar with a worried tone. "He'd kill me if he knew I was passing that thing around."
