It's easier to consistently score better on Colors than Kaze no Tou, I'll say that much

Hmm.. Not too certain, it definitely feels a bit hard having a couple fast patterns as it does - personally I feel it's one of the harder VC that's right on the borderline. What would be the reasoning specifically behind bumping up the difficulty on it, if I may ask?

I think it could be a 66 at they very very most, it's pretty speedy but nothing that screams out to me that it should definitely be an FMO. I mean look at Foam Born, that thing is ridiculously fast at the end and it's a 64 (or is it, hmm)

I try to pick songs that I think are interesting in some way. If you'd like to give me a couple song ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Undiscovered Colors isn't too difficult to hit all the funky patterns in the song, it's just difficult to hit all of them in the same play. I never get goods in the same spots from play to play.

As for Kaze. I don't think it should be fmo. There's a handful of other files I think that are harder than Kaze, but arn't ranked as fmo's (System Failure and Pokemon Elite Four Battle for example).

Alright. I rewatched Kaze's replay and thought it was still VC, but at a quick glance it seemed quite a few people were scoring worse on Kaze than UC, which I feel is definitely FMO. I'll probably knock UC down to 66/67.

Keep posting scores here, it's cool to get scoring data from people in these divisions (plus just monitoring the thread in general for people's improvements)

I agree with this. It actually seems to me that other songs of the same rank are harder. On a lot of other 66's - 68's I can't even SDG them (on one individual playthrough anyway) which I know because I keep trying for Oni. For example Battle Theme #37 or Grocery Escape Plan (how is that a 67?).
