Stepmania's more a niche so the audience isn't as big but I'd rather have a community more tight-knit and less elitist than a huge community that sucks up to the famous players -- this is a big problem with many other games

No what I mean is there isn't some kind of monopoly at the top level like in the ITG community where everyone looks to some player for a perspective on their progress. Chino is fully aware of this problem.

On FFR I've seen many rivalries and friendly competition. Many top players here are very approachable too.

I used to be uncomfortable posting some of my scores, but now everyone has changed (for the better, I feel), and we all can get along. It's touching.
