Like what igr said, just poke around and see what you can do. Don't just poke around the 66's either, go explore the range a little bit; chances are you'll find some files that are "supposedly" harder than the rest that are actually easier for you, I know some people that can AAA things that I can't even FC yet and on other songs, I can sdg and they wouldn't be even able to ddg, everyone has different skill sets.

Also, another bit of advice, try playing hard files (high-fmo's/low-fgo's) that are like a beef-ed up version of the song you are trying to get oni on, that way, when you go to the oni-get file, it'll feel a lot easier :P

If you want my advice, once you're warmed up, just randomly play songs that you think you can get. Don't whore a single song and get all nervous and mental blocky about it - and don't get too into it and get annoyed when you mess up on a song, because it'll happen when it happens and until then you can rack up some nice scores anyway. I got mine on a song I had six goods on, and several other people have had similar things happen.

This is really good advice and it helps quite a bit. When I nailed my first FGO, I upped my speed-mod from 1.5x to 1.75x and snagged Reality by knocking my score down three goods.

More recently, I went from 4-1-0-1 on La Campanella to AAA (about two years ago) by just randomly playing FGOs. It'll come when you're ready, but don't force it, haha.

I can vouch for it being fairly easy. Powerpuff Gabberz is actually alright assuming you can get past the rolls intact. Other than that, it's just jumpstream for about 30% of the chart. The rest is fairly simple.

1. DBA is not easy, I got fucking lucky as shit. I just happen to have immense luck with retard jack sections like that due to playing songs such as radio heads and Need Me a lot (I can do Need me's intro on either hand I played it that much.) If you practice other songs with similar patterns you'll get these "LOL I KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW" moments.

2. PPG is broken jumpstream. Also getting past the rolls, there's the voice jack. That thing is a complete run wrecker I swear.

3. You could get it on EPILOGUE. YES EPILOGUE. Get passed the Intro / 1st jump stream with the retard 16th jump (don't split that mofo, look for it.) Play it on mirror so the trill is on the right hand and the hardest part's PR makes sense.

Maybe I'm a little shamelessly promoting though.

I'm left handed and I jack better with my left and trill better with my right

probably because I play piano and the right hand is typically more active.

This. Never let it die. EVER. Took me until a few months ago when they expanded the requirements to get it. Don't force it--eventually you'll get good enough naturally to have teh urn.

i got a slight case of tendinitis in both my middle fingers. not trying to make any excuses but ive been doing quite poor as of late. but i havent given up.
but i have lost every tiny bit of stamina in my left hand... D:

Maybe you should try Black Key Etude... I know it's a very uncommon oni get, but you should try it; it's just stream with a little bit of minijacks and a scary jumpjack at the end.

i had 3 FMO AAAs before i got ONI, and several FGO scores that blew D5 players out of the water. it will happen when you least expect it to.
