I share the exact same thoughts, Rushy.
I was lucky enough to play Nocturne’s chart for Cirno’s Math Class before it was actually released, and I was very satisfied with it. It plays very well.

I liked the chart. I also like that it’s not some mind numbing 10/11/12/13 like a lot of the recent charts have been.
Also Mario your broke the submission rules. You’re supposed to cut the unneeded parts.. Like everything after he says the end.

We need to have a process for removing songs eventually. No one wants to have to AAA crap like this or Learn to play, or She Bangs (william hung). At least tokenize them later.

I think I should note that this was never intended as a joke. I don’t know if you ever read this from me somewhere, but I strongly believe I never said that. The first reason why I thought of making that song is because, before stumbling upon the Queue/Batch thread the first time, I had no idea where to find information about submitting songs to FFR and everything. Sure, there are stickies all over the place, but I really was not familiar to that concept back then. That is why I thought of making a song that, if players played it, might give them a hint that there are actually rules and that they can find them somewhere (hence the reason why there was a background image attached to the chart of the song).

I can’t speak for Marionintendo, but I think this is a joke file in the sense of the actual chart. We all know that. What the simfiler was serious about was 1) submitting such a file in the first place and 2) getting people to know the submission rules more easily while having a laugh at it. The chart/song itself is a joke, the message behind it is not. At least that’s my take.

hence the reason why it’s frustrating to see as a Christmas Event file – I don’t know about you, but I’d rather showcase really strong files and great songs, not a parody of rules involving simfile submission. As of now, the only reason I’m even paying attention to the Christmas event is because of Thirdstyle – Cirno’s Perfect Math Class was well worthy of being released in an event like this. The other two files simply were not.

Well if you’ve noticed, the Xmas files so far on FFR are quite unique. It appears that the main emphasis on releases are “unique” files, if there’s a lack of Xmas-related songs. I certainly don’t mind it, and most people shouldn’t – there’s a boatload of songs being released at the current moment. I’m just happy that we have what we have.

if you think this is a joke file, go play piano solo 4, piano solo 5, rabasladabingbong, reality.wav, touch fuzzy get dizzy, etc.
The file is fine, the song is funny. If you can’t AAA it on the first couple of tries, then don’t play it? If one of your goals is to AAA all the songs in the game, then you should expect “bad” files. If it isn’t one of your goals, then skip over this file. It’s pretty fuckin simple if you ask me.

All I’m going to comment is this: we’ve had files that we will not be a fan of – whether it’s the song or the steps. Just be grateful enough that we’re getting these files in the game for us to play. If you don’t like the music, mute your sound. If you can’t stand the file as a whole, don’t play it, period.

I listened to the song on the levelranks page before playing it and it gave a good laugh. I watched Frankie play the chart and I wasn’t as happy, mainly because it -looked- off sync, but that might have been due to lag from him playing on vista
I must give props for singing that Felix, it was pretty funny.

Lol personally, I agree with AJ in the manner I would like to have seen some strong files put into game, but on the other hand, we have the official tournament going on. Henceforth, we already are gaining over 50 songs already right or wrong? This Christmas event, everyone should just be happy it’s being put together. As for the chart and song, the song is horrible I’m sorry Mario
but, the chart is fine with the song. No issues there. Just not something I would play day in and day out. Good Comic Relief though from the official tournament. Every does need a laugh once in a while.

Exactly. Even though I’m not a fan of the song, the last thing we need are ungrateful users. Compared to previous years, especially the earlier years of FFR, we are SPOILED with songs.

Spoiled is an understatement xD in about a year (revival to now), about 244 songs were released. Before revival, 1340 ish songs were released. Do the math, that’s only about 191 songs a year.

No that just causes more issues. It SHOULD be if you don’t like the files;
1.) Don’t play them.
2.) Play them to get a gameplay on it AAA it and move on with your life.

Not to mention, the judges aren’t biased on a song. If the song is shitty but it is stepped correctly to the song, I would imagine it would get accepted regardless. unless its just a long stream of screeching that is just horrible.
