Random bouts of lag

I don't get lag when I'm not playing on multiplayer. Period.
But lately I seem to be getting random bouts of lag. Anyone else have this problem?
When I refresh the page, after almost failing miserably at a song because of the lag, about half the time it works normally again.

   I've been seeming to have that lately too, every time it happens it shows my iexplorer process is using around 70-90% of the cpu usage, so I have to wait for that to go down until I can start playing again. Dont know why it's been doing that either.
