Nekotales Posted on: May 27, 2009, at 01:22:00am Here's a little something I wrote for fun ^^ Ariel could not shake the feeling away. Something from the tea had done something to her. She should have never accepted a drink from her hosts, especially not in a time of war and treason. Her senses seemed to fluctuate in a strange and fuzzy fashion. Her heart began beating faster and stronger, as if a change in her body was taking place. Shivers ran up her spine and the ticking of the clock above her began to ring louder, as if someone had augmented her hearing all of a sudden. The ambassador quickly stood up, trying to reach her body guards outside, but her balance escaped her and she quickly reached out to the chair next to her, yet losing grip and falling to the ground. The candlelight around her brightened greatly, nearly paining her view. The young women tried hiding the stinging of the light with her hand, only to see her skin darken before her very eyes. Strains of hair grew everywhere she looked upon her body, her sight slowly coming back to her. Ripples of pain ran across her body without warning, sending her in a fetal position, her bones and muscles changing in indescribable fashion. All notion of running away had left from this creature wriggling in pain, only wanting it to end, hoping that she hadn’t been poisoned by her hosts, or something of the sorts. Something made her nose twitch as the minutes went by and the pain seemed to magically fly away. The dark and furry humanoid creature walked on its four paws, creeping up on a bowl of milk not far away, dipping its tongue to test the components that composed the white mixture before her. Nothing seemed toxic or awful to its taste, so it thoroughly enjoyed the tasty treat that was called milk. In the room next door, the master of this manor smiled to himself, having acquired one more cat like creature to serve his scheme to come. The tall and dark lithe skinned man got up from his chair and approached confidently the newly created neko. It would take some time to break it into obedience, but it was hard to come by and to raise, creatures of the sorts from birth till mature age. He had to take every opportunity thrown at him to make more of these, even if those involved were ambassadors or enemies attacking his territory. The guards stationed outside would also make a fine addition to his growing feline army. Their dexterity and stealth would be instrumental to finding the weaknesses of his foes, and their past knowledge could be used as well, if their minds remained intact enough to force it out of them. The man’s cloak almost flowed on the ground, slightly rising as he walked towards the neko. The creature seemed to sense his presence, looking up and hissing in his direction. ‘’There there.’’ The man said, moving his hand closer for the feline like being to scent, some kind of powdery substance crumpled between his finger tips. The substance seemed to have a positive effect upon the creature’s reaction, as it scented him curiously and began licking his hand, and nuzzling against it. The master of the manor smiled to himself once more and pat the female creature for a moment, then returned to his study leaving his servants to take over and to train her for her new duties. Shadows faded in and out of sight, moving without a sound to the exit, probably to intercept the ambassador’s guards and to prepare them for a similar fate. Ariel could barely remember why she had come to this place. All she knew was that all her senses seemed aroused by her augmented senses, loving the taste of the liquid white substance and the smell that the tall stranger had on his finger tips, wanting to taste them too. She could not resist all these things. Her body nearly reacted on its own and without her consent, as if her inner instinct had overwhelmed her conscious mind. Just as this thought crossed her mind, the man had briefly pet her, arousing her skin and making her nuzzle up to his gentle touch. Yet that soon passed as he left her alone in this transformed and yet similar room that she had recently entered not so long ago. Then everything came back to her. The reason she had come, her duties as an ambassador and most of all, the strange tea that had transformed her into something she had not yet deciphered. She was a human emissary for the surface world, off to find potential trade routes and people to help ground friendship between those from above and the underground. The journey had been long, but the thrill of adventure and journeying through unknown territory had enticed her to accept this job. She had never been lucky to find work in the past, but a posting on the municipal board had attracted her attention. As her thoughts roamed upon her first steps to a long and dangerous road, footsteps ringed in her mind, ending abruptly her line of thoughts. The two dark skinned humans approached the creature they had been told to take care of. It had become a routine duty to break and rebuild these things into useful assets for this house. They didn’t really think of the pain and suffering that they had to apply to attain their goals, only of the pay at the end of each tendays that they got for their hard work. They sometimes took pleasure in certain cases, especially when the creature fought back, as it livened their lives slightly, from this monotonous lifestyle that they had chosen. It was their choice though, as scouting for enemies and keeping guard was far more dangerous and life threatening than simply taking care of these newly created balls of fur. |
