Quebec city is on FIRE!!!
Posted on: July 11, 2008, at 10:46:54am

Well not literally, but still, lots of movement, people, shows and some fire are involved. After 400 years of its founding since Samuel de Champlain, this place has seen many things come and pass. I have only been around this place for 12 years, and I arrived in the middle of a huge YES or NO campaign that ended in a very very narrow NO victory. I'll let you all guess what would have happened if a YES would have succeeded. Now, for festivities.

Van Halen came and went, and I was right in front of them at the fence. He even brought his huge air filled plastic mic on stage. Eddie did his solo and Alex as well. It was all good fun, and an epic last hi from their part.

NOFX swore more than usual and seemed to like bitching none stop about everything in general. They still managed to wish the city a happy birthday and sing a few tunes in French, which was funny to hear coming from them.

Mes Aîeux, a folkloric popular band from here came and brought a crowd aged from 3 to 83 and made us do things that would have been very funny to see to an onlooker who didn't know what was going on.

Linda Lemay wasn't the main attraction this evening, but I was glad I got to hear her songs, tons of personal opinion turned into laughter and tears. Check her out if you understand French.

Charles Aznavour came, will probably be his last visit, him being 84 years old and all. Been active singing for the past 64 years now and first became popular here in Sainte-Foy (Quebec). A nice guy really and my first time hearing him live. I cried on the first few songs as he is very nostalgic at times in his words and person. Oh, he has a few English songs, look up ''She'' from Aznavour.

The Ventures probably wrote a few tunes that everyone could remember in old films your parents used to watch. Look'em up or go to www.theventures.com or something.

I missed Primus mostly because my friends thought the group boring and we left.

Dennis Deyoung passed and went, but I didn't go.

Akon is passing along tonight for those who are nearby and wanna go see him. Go get'em.
I'm not ;)

And finally, this sunday, for the pleasure of tons of people, Linkin Park will be here and it'll cost 15$ to see them if that's the only show you wanna see that day. Rain is announced, but who cares :P Cya all there xD

UPDATE: Linkin Park was by far the most anticipated group of the Summer Festival this sunday. It poured 50 mm of rain and yet the plains were packed by fans of this group. We went wild as they did and in the end, the plains were ablaze of this once in a life time event!
