I Want to Learn Guitar.

So, I really really really want to learn guitar. One thing, I have no idea about guitars... but i know i want to learn acoustic. If you know any important info on the subject just leave a comment. :).

I took guitar class junior year.
All I did was learn how to play video game music.
I'm actually quite terrible.

well when u start playing guitar for the first time have it so half the strings are normal ones and the other half should be nylon. play like that for a bit, and then u can have somewhat of an idea which type of string u have a feel for...i'm sorry i suck at explaining things.

OK. We don't know each other, but I feel that it is my duty as a musician to help you out on this.
If you want to play acoustic guitar, you're going to want nylon strings for the sound that they give out, and they're excellent if you want to learn how to fingerpick (waaaay better than metal strings, trust me). Start off learning scales BEFORE chords, play around with notes from the same scale, come up with some chords as you get better.
AND PRACTICE. Practice makes perfect. :)
