Tourney from the eyes of a misplaced D2 player Posted on: August 13, 2012, at 01:43:06am I'll be honest when I started in the official I was a solid competitor for top 5 in my division. Does that mean I was misplaced? At the same time, I probably would be lucky to get top 16 in D3, so where is the line drawn? If someone can do well in one divison but would get owned in the next is it really right to deprive them of that one chance for glory? At any rate, even with the massive skillboost I've achieved practicing my heart out, the remaining players in D3 would annihilate me. I may have made top 8, but that's it. Moving along to the other divisions I feel bad for D1. If there's anything more challenging for less advanced players it should be PA, so it's amazes me how many people in the weakest divison can AAA whatever is thrown at them. Almost makes me feel like they need a divison 0, but all this stuff is impractical. There's really no way to keep it fair for everyone so there's no reason to harass the tournament organizers for anything. Sorry you guys have to put up with all the bitching. D3 had a lot of fun songs, a lot more enjoyable than my divison's songs so I look forward to competing there in the next official. At the very least everyone there currently that would dominate me should be moving up to D4 so there's some reassurance there. D4 had some fun songs (especially Nous!) but eventually they started to become to difficult to FC for me much less PA. I don't think my skill level will be up to par with D4 any time soon, if ever. I will never be a D5 or D6 player, plain and simple. I can't read most of their charts and my hands CANNOT move that fast. It's crazy to me how many people can play these charts, but I guess these guys have been playing for years. As far as my divison goes Death March was such a dumb and unfun chart, and I honestly couldnt AAA it when it was released and I have no desire to try for it now. I recall reading somewhere that JMaxx was experiencing lag during the first round of the tourney which explains his 10 good run and then AAAing everything after. He's a D4 player already for sure (non mashed Reality FC) but I have no right to complain. Even if I manage to AAA the next two songs along with him, he'll destroy me in a hard song tiebreaker, so I premptively congratulate him on winning D2. I expect 2nd but anyone could surprise me for real. Give it your all, guys. I really enjoyed the charts for Yellow Leaves, Baby Still Too Fat, Iced Innocence, Nous, and Who Gives a F***. This week's D2 song was one of my proudest AAAs as I had to overcome a crippling mindblock to achieve it. I'm quite confident the next round will really put my improving PA skills to the test. I didn't like most of the D1 and D6 charts for obvious reasons (I didn't even bother to finish most of the D6 charts) but other than that I didn't feel like anything was really poorly charted. Shoutouts to jductape, MikeShinoda, and TheSaxRunner for keeping me company during this fun tournament experience and I wish everyone in the top 8 for their division the best of luck. Cheers, Rei |
