Anyone played a game developed by Bungie called Marathon? No? ummm well check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon_(computer_game)#External_links
this probably doesn't explain everything but it helps. Somehow it ties in the halo universe and no this game isn't high end graphics -_- more like doom 1.

Side note: This is where the Marathon Man achievement in Halo 3 comes from cause this Marathon is about locating terminals a bit. And the Marathon Man achievement requires all terminals.
